Broker Sync Beta Agreement

Last updated: July 6, 2026 · Version s19-v1

This agreement is specific to the Broker Sync private beta. It is in addition to, and incorporates, the Moneyta Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Where this agreement conflicts with the general Terms on a broker-sync topic, this agreement controls for that topic. Broker Sync is provided by Dataexpansed LLC (“Moneyta”, “we”, “us”).

1. What Broker Sync is

Broker Sync is an experimental, invitation-only feature that lets you link a brokerage account so Moneyta can import a read-only copy of your holdings, balances, and transaction history and keep them in sync. Its purpose is to reduce manual data entry and to let you reconcile your Moneyta records against your broker of record. Broker Sync is an analytics and record-keeping convenience. It is not a brokerage service, a custodian, an investment adviser, or a trading venue.

2. Read-only access, no trading, no money movement

Every broker connection created during this beta is established as read-only (“data access only”). Moneyta cannot and will not use Broker Sync to place, cancel, or modify any trade; to move, transfer, deposit, or withdraw cash or securities; or to change any setting on your brokerage account. Moneyta never takes custody of your assets and never has the ability to move your money. Any trade-execution capability, if it is ever offered, would be a separate, clearly-labeled, opt-in feature governed by a separate agreement.

3. How the connection works and who holds your credentials

Broker Sync is powered by a third-party financial-data aggregator (SnapTrade, operated by Passiv Technologies Inc.), acting as our service provider. When you connect, you authenticate directly with your broker (or the aggregator) inside their secure connection flow. Your brokerage username, password, and any multi-factor codes are entered into the aggregator’s and your broker’s systems, never into Moneyta, and Moneyta never receives or stores them. Moneyta receives only a per-user access secret that permits read-only data retrieval. We store that secret encrypted at rest using envelope encryption, with the wrapping key held in a dedicated cloud key vault under least-privilege access, and we never log it in plaintext.

By connecting an account you authorize Moneyta and its aggregator to access, retrieve, and store the data described in Section 4 on your behalf, and you confirm you are the account holder (or are authorized by the account holder) for every account you connect.

4. What data we access and how we use it

Through a read-only connection we may access and store:

  • account identifiers, type, and currency;
  • cash and position balances;
  • holdings (symbols, quantities, and, where the broker provides it, cost basis);
  • transaction and activity history (buys, sells, dividends, fees, contributions, withdrawals, corporate actions);
  • broker-reported tax-lot information, where available.

We use this data solely to provide the service to you: to populate and reconcile your portfolios, ledger, tax lots, and reports. We do not sell your financial data and we do not use it for advertising. Sharing with our aggregator and infrastructure providers is limited to what is necessary to run the feature, as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Sync cadence, accuracy, and reconciliation

Data is refreshed on a periodic schedule (typically about once per day) and when you request an on-demand sync, subject to rate limits. Imported data is only as accurate, complete, and timely as your broker and the aggregator make it. It may be delayed, incomplete, restated, or temporarily unavailable, and prices shown in Moneyta are sourced from our own market-data pipeline, not from your broker. Where Moneyta’s records and your broker’s data differ, the reconciliation view surfaces the difference; corrections are recorded as new, additive ledger events and Moneyta does not silently overwrite your existing records. Your brokerage account and its official statements — not Moneyta — remain the authoritative record of your holdings and transactions.

6. Beta status — expect rough edges

Broker Sync is a beta. It may be changed, limited, paused, or discontinued at any time, in whole or for any user, with or without notice. It may contain defects, produce incorrect or incomplete results, or become unavailable. We may impose or change capacity limits, supported brokers, and usage limits during the beta. In exchange for early access you agree to provide reasonable feedback on request; any feedback you give may be used by us without restriction or obligation to you.

7. Not investment, tax, or legal advice

Broker Sync and everything derived from the imported data (including reconciliation, tax-lot, and harvesting figures) are for informational and record-keeping purposes only. They are not investment advice, not a recommendation, and not tax or legal advice, and Moneyta is not acting as your broker, investment adviser, or accountant. Tax-related figures are estimates that may not match your broker’s 1099 or your final tax position. You are responsible for your own decisions and for verifying all figures against official documents; consult a licensed professional before acting.

8. Your responsibilities

  • You will only connect accounts you own or are authorized to connect.
  • You will comply with your broker’s and the aggregator’s terms; connecting through Moneyta does not waive them.
  • You will keep your Moneyta credentials secure and promptly disconnect any account you no longer wish to sync.
  • You will treat imported data as informational and independently verify anything you rely on.

9. Revoking access — you are in control

You may disconnect any broker at any time from the Connections page. Disconnecting instructs the aggregator to revoke the access secret for that connection so future syncing stops. Data already imported into your Moneyta account is retained as part of your records unless you delete it; you can request deletion of imported broker data, and full deletion of your account and its data, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may also suspend or revoke your beta access at any time.

10. Disclaimers

Broker Sync is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the feature will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or that imported data will be accurate, complete, or current. You use Broker Sync at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dataexpansed LLC and its officers, members, employees, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or investment losses, arising out of or relating to Broker Sync — including any trading, investment, or tax decision made in reliance on imported or reconciled data, any inaccuracy, delay, or unavailability of that data, or any unauthorized access to data not caused by our gross negligence — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Broker Sync will not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you paid Moneyta for the Broker Sync feature in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $50. Because Broker Sync is offered without a separate charge during the beta, this amount may be USD $50.

Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold harmless Dataexpansed LLC and its service providers from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of Broker Sync, your connection of accounts you are not authorized to connect, or your breach of this agreement, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Third-party services

Broker Sync depends on your broker and on the aggregator, each an independent third party we do not control. Their acts, omissions, outages, and terms are their own. This agreement does not create any obligation on, or relationship with, your broker.

14. Changes and consent

We may update this agreement; material changes will be reflected by a new version number, and continued use of Broker Sync after an update constitutes acceptance. By checking the box to accept the Broker Sync Beta Agreement in the app, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this agreement (version s19-v1), and you consent to the read-only access, data retrieval, and storage described here. Your acceptance, including the version and timestamp, is recorded.
