The Portfolio Tracker You Never Have to Update
Every portfolio tracker dies the same death: you stop updating it. Here's how Moneyta keeps your books current with daily broker sync, keeps them honest with reconciliation, and keeps watch with alerts, so the tool stays true without your labor.

Every portfolio tracker dies the same death. Not from a bug, not from a missing feature. It dies the day you stop updating it. The spreadsheet was accurate for three glorious weeks, then you made two trades on a busy Tuesday, forgot to log them, and now the numbers are wrong and you know they're wrong, so you stop looking. A tracker you can't trust is worse than no tracker at all. We built Moneyta's sync, reconciliation and alerts as one answer to that one problem: the books should stay true without your labor.
Synced while you sleep
Connect your brokerage once and Moneyta pulls your holdings, balances and trade history automatically, then keeps them fresh with a sync every day. You sign in on your broker's own page, so your password never touches Moneyta, and the connection is read-only by design: it can look, it can never trade or move money. Each brokerage account becomes its own portfolio, and accounts are never merged, so your taxable account and your Roth keep the separate tax treatment they deserve. Made a trade five minutes ago and can't wait? There's a sync-now button. Session expired because you changed your password? Reconnecting takes seconds and never creates duplicates.
The result is quiet but transformative: Tuesday's forgotten trades stop being your job. They arrive on their own, your positions update, and the whole downstream machine, health score, observations, activity feed, net worth, moves with them. (Broker sync is in private beta today; verified brokers connect instantly and you can request yours from the Connections page.)
Reconciled, so current also means correct
Automatic sync solves staleness. It doesn't by itself solve trust, because two records of the same financial life will eventually disagree, and the question is what your tool does about it. Moneyta reconciles: when you record a trade yourself, the next sync matches it against your broker's version. An exact match confirms automatically with no double-counting. A close-but-not-exact match, same stock but slightly different price, say, is surfaced for you to decide: same trade, or keep both. Moneyta never guesses on your books, and every correction is recorded as a new entry rather than an overwrite, so the history stays honest too.
Alerts, because you shouldn't have to keep checking
Current, correct books enable the third piece: a watchful layer that only speaks when something you care about happens. You set the thresholds, Moneyta does the staring. When a single holding crosses the weight you chose, when a sector takes over more of your portfolio than you're comfortable with, when your health score drops, the alert arrives in-app and by email. The same machinery watches your whole balance sheet, not just stocks: a property value that hasn't been reviewed in months, an insurance policy renewing in thirty days, your allocation drifting past the band you set against your target.

Notice what alerts are not: instructions. An alert tells you a fact you asked to be told, that NVDA is now a quarter of your portfolio, that your score slid six points this week. Whether that's a problem is your judgment. Prefer a rhythm to interruptions? Email digests roll everything up daily, weekly or monthly instead.
The compounding payoff
Put the three together and the failure mode that kills every tracker disappears. Sync keeps the books current without you. Reconciliation keeps them correct without you. Alerts watch them without you. What's left for you is the only part that was ever worth your time: deciding what to do. That's the trick to a portfolio tracker you'll still be using next year. It never asks you to keep it alive.
- Daily read-only broker sync: your password never touches Moneyta, and the connection can look but never act.
- Accounts stay separate, so taxable and retirement keep the right tax treatment automatically.
- Reconciliation auto-confirms exact matches and surfaces near-matches for your decision. No guessing, no double-counting.
- Alerts fire on thresholds you set, across stocks, drift, property staleness and insurance renewals, in-app and by email.
